What about Visa Services? What should I do if my Visa is going to expire and I am not able to renew it?

The Department of Immigration (DoI) has released Update on Visa Services on May 7. As per the information released, DoI has made special provision for Visa issues for tourists who are not able to renew their visa because of the prohibitory order and suspension of international flights.

How can I get back to Kathmandu? Where can I stay in Kathmandu till I can go home?

You could request the Local Government and NTB for evacuation to Kathmandu. Please note that you must fill up the Evacuation Form by NTB , and evacuees are required to undergo 5-day Hotel Quarantine in one the hotels provided by the tourism industry. Please look up the Evacuation section on NTB’s Crisis page for information details on the form, information and the list of hotels.

I am stuck in Nepal. What should I do?

Please fill out the Traveler Locator form on NTB Crisis webpage to ensure that your location is known. You can also get in touch with us via Crisis e-mail/ phone number . It is also very important to get in touch with your Embassy in Kathmandu or the nearest location, to let them know about your location and situation.

How can I get back to Kathmandu? Where can I stay in Kathmandu till I can go home?

Please request the Local Government and NTB for evacuation to Kathmandu. Please look up hotels that are open to receive visitors following the COVID-19 Health and Safety Protocol during the lockdown. NTB’s Crisis webpage and online support groups like Stranded in Nepal may be able to help with the information in time.

How can I get back to my country?

Please get in touch with other nationals from your country or region who are currently in Nepal. Please get in touch with your Embassy in Kathmandu or the nearest location get in touch with the Nepal Government for arrangement of Repatriation Flights.

What are the regulations for Departure?

Regulations for Departure from the Government of Nepal are:
RT PCR Negative of Swab Test within 72 hours of Departure time*
- Confirmation of Flight
- Passport or Valid ID Card

*Please check with your airline regarding PCR Test Centers and time limit of Swab Test. Please check with the port of arrival regarding any specific prerequisite for entry.

Can I keep trekking in Nepal during the lockdown if I am in good health and OK with it?

If you are in the midst of trekking please stay put where you are. Do not move further. Please fill up the Traveler Locator form to let us know where you are. Please call your Embassy in Kathmandu or the nearest location. You could also get in touch with NTB through hotlines and e-mails. Also, please get in touch with the Local Government and request for evacuation back to Kathmandu.

How can I get a PCR Test in Kathmandu? Which one do you recommend?

You can get a PCR Test in Kathmandu by contacting one of the testing centers. Please get in touch with one of Government Approved Hospitals/ Laboratories for PCR Test to confirm schedule and timings. Please check with your airline regarding PCR Test Centers and time limit of Swab Test.

What should I do if I feel sick?

If you feel sick, the first thing to do is to stay put and isolate yourself from any contact. Please call one of Government Approved Health Service Providers immediately for advice.

I am coming to Nepal via Nepal India Air Bubble Arrangement. What are the requirements for entry? Do I need to stay in Quarantine?

Please do carry the following to ensure entry: Valid ID or Passport, RT PCR Negative, filled CCMC Form with Bar Code. Yes, you would need to stay for 10-day Hotel Quarantine in one of the Government Approved Hotels in Kathmandu. The cost Quarantine accommodation is INR 1875.00 per person per day inclusive of room and three meals.

What is the schedule for the 2 times a week Air Bubble Arrangement between India and Nepal?

As per the schedule of 2 times a week Air Bubble Arrangement, Nepal Airlines flies Kathmandu-Delhi-Kathmandu on Wednesdays and Air India flies Delhi-Kathmandu-Delhi on Fridays.
