The Sustainable Tourism Network is a dynamic and inclusive information sharing
and discussion forum to promote the development of sustainable tourism in Nepal.
The Sustainable Tourism Network aims to:
- Share lessons learned
- Increase cooperation and partnership
- Create awareness
- Contribute to understanding
- Encourage best practice
The information represented on the STN website must be compatible
with and support these aims. Decisions on content will be taken by the site administrator
at the NTB and in the event of a dispute the STN Working Group will be asked for
a final decision.
The STN website is intending to further enhance the work of the Network. It will:
- act as a 'hub' for information about sustainable tourism activities in Nepal
- increase the international profile of the STN, the NTB and STN participants
- lessen the administrative load of the Network via an automatic information
sharing function directly to registered participant's email accounts and thru
online registration using website technology
- enable closer exchange of information between STN participants and the NTB.
As stated. the website is intended to be a 'hub' for information
about sustainable tourism activities in Nepal. Hence, the information presented
on it will focus on projects and activities working for the sustainable development
of tourism in Nepal.
Its target viewers include practitioners in the industry, researchers,
students and tourists. It is not intended as a promotional tool for individual
companies or organisations. However, if there are tourism products on offer by
STN Participant Organization then the relevant information will be included
as considered appropriate by the web administrator in consultation with NTB and
the STN working group.
Registration categories will be verified by NTB and inauthentic
or inappropriate registrations for STN Participant Organization will either
be discarded by the administrator or will be given general registration. This
will give them access to features such as discussion forums and the opportunity
to contribute events and publications to the site.
Inauthentic or inappropriate registrations will be determined
on the basis of commitment to the aims of the STN and to the development of a
sustainable tourism industry. |
